‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ and ‘The Shape of Water’ for the Oscars will be awarded during the American Cinema Editors’ Virtual Eddy Awards, respectively.
Lynzee Klingman, whose credits include a flave above the cuckoo’s nest and a river running through it; And Sidney Wolnsky, whose work includes The Shape of Water and The Sopranos series finale, will receive the ACE Career Achievement Award during the American Cinema Editors’ 71st annual ACE Eddy Awards. The virtual ceremony is to be held on 17 April.
Klingon’s Neckman received a BAFTA Award and Oscar nomination for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and earned Eddie Nome for Cuckoo’s Nest and Man on the Moon. His credits also include True Confessions, Hair, Baby Boom, Little Man Tate, War of the Roses, Ali, and the Oscar-winning documentary Hearts and Minds. He serves as the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and. USC, Center for the Arts and Faculty of Arts College of Design and AFI.
Volsky edited the drama series, including House of Cards; The Man in the High Castle; Ray Donovan; Boardwalk Empire, for which he won an Emmy; And The Sopranos, for which he received the ACE Eddie Award for the series finale, which concluded with the famous cut to black, with Tony Soprano’s fate left open for interpretation. He earned an Oscar nomination for Best Picture winner The Shape of Water and most recently cut Apple TV +’s Greyhound.
ACE President Kevin Tent said, “Linzie and Sydney have cut some of our favorite and most iconic films and television shows. We are thrilled to recognize these two extraordinary editors, their hard work, and their amazing careers.” As previously announced, Spike Lee will receive ACE Golden Eddy Filmmaker of the Year. The AD nomination is scheduled to be announced on Thursday.
