The 2021 ceremony will take place on 28 April. Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Company and chairman of the board of directors, has been tapped to receive an honorary award at the 2021 Clios. The Clio Awards – which honors excellence in the field of advertising in the sports, fashion, music, entertainment, cannabis, and health industries – will take place as a virtual event at 12 noon. On 28 April E.T.
Bob Iger will accept his award during a chat moderated by Asad Ayaz, president of marketing for Disney Studio Content and the recipient of the 2019 The Hollywood Reporter and Cleo Entertainment Marketing Mastermind Award. During the talk, Bob Iger
hopes to provide insight into his leadership and success at Disney.
The award presentation will be part of the Clio Awards: Creativity Unmasked, which is “a celebration of the creative community and a multitude of ways the industry has thrived over the past year.” Produced in collaboration with Superfly, the event will be hosted by Andrea Savage, actress-producer and co-producer of TrueTV’s I Am Sorry. During the event, the winners of the 2020-21 Grand Clio and “The Year” Awards will be unveiled.
“It’s no secret that the awards business was fully developed last year, but our team rose to the challenge and bowed to virtual events and new content offerings at the museum with great success by Clio,”
CEO of Clio Awards Nicole Purcell said. “However, with our main Clio Awards ceremony, we really wanted to push the envelope and provide something unexpected to the community.”
To that end, the Clio Awards also detailed their plans for the show on Wednesday, which will take on a streamlined format amid the epidemic. The show will include inspirational short films, a sketch comedy short, an experience focused on the AR Museum, a presentation of the Storytelling Award to Brandon Stanton of New York’s Center for Humanity, a look at inclusivity in 2020, and more.
