‘The Woodsman’ director L is based on Frank Baum‘s classic children’s novel Marty Bowen and features made up of Temple Hill and Mark Platt’s Vic Godfrey.
Woodsman director Nicole Cassell is set to help film adaptation for L. Frank Baum’s children’s novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz New Line.
New Line’s parents, Warner Bros. Pictures, own the rights to the 1939 film, which starred Judy Garland and is now a Hollywood classic. The new feature Bom will take a new look at the children’s novel and, unlike other adaptations, may draw elements such as ruby slippers from the 1939 Oscar-winning film.
The previous screenplay draft was written by Darren Lemke and the duo of Neil Vidner and Gavin James.

Isaac Klausen will produce the executive production and the reimagining feature with Marty Bowen and Temple Hill’s Vic Godfrey Mark Platt. Cassell is a sought-after TV director whose work includes episodes of Watchman, The American, Vinyl, American Crime, The Leftover, Rectify, The Follow, Better Call Saul, and The Killing.
Cassell made his feature directorial debut with The Woodsman, which premiered at Sundance in 2004 and later starred in 2011’s A Little Bit of Heaven, starring Kate Hudson and Gayle Garcia Bernal. As a prolific writer, Bom is best known for the best-selling children’s book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Warner Bros. has been announced by visual effects and animation studio Animal Logic from within the Wizard of Oz universe.)
