Set to tell the story of the infamous Las Vegas promoter Anthony Spilotro, the feature is taking place in Berlin with the virtual European film market The Exchange. Harvey Keitel, Emil Hirsch, and Ruby Rose are to star in the upcoming gangster drama The Legitimate Wise Guy.
The film – being offered to buyers in the upcoming Virtual 2021 European film market by The Exchange – is set to tell the true story of Anthony Spilotro, who is best known for coming out of the notorious crime syndicate known as the Chicago Outfit Considered one of the more feared promoters. (Which came to power in the 1920s under Al Capone).
Spilotro runs Outfit’s casino skimming operation in Las Vegas, where he will meet a young man who dreams of becoming a Hollywood actor. Seeing an opportunity to expand his operation, he begins to mention and covet the aspiring actor in his criminal web.
Based on an original screenplay by Nicholas Cellozzi (Shutled, Momo: The Sam Giancana Story) and Jim McGraw (Kickboxer: Vengeance), Bad Boys is The Whitewright’s Wise Guy, directed by George Gallo (Midnight Run, The Comeback Trail).
Celozzi is serving executive producers alongside Monaco Films Michael Sportelli and Freddie Brady (Rescue Dawn, Gospel Hill) for Monaco Films (Kickboxer reboot) and Richard Salvatore for productions (The Comeback Trail) for March. Production of the film is to begin in Spring 2021.
